Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Stabilize and manage acute and critical conditions using evidence-based interventions
• Administer medications, IVs, and emergency treatments safely and competently
• Perform rapid assessments and lifesaving procedures as needed in the ER setting
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated care
• Document patient care, handoffs, and clinical changes clearly in the medical record
• Participate in unit-specific competency testing and maintain required certifications
• Provide calm, compassionate patient- and family-centered care during high-stress moments

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (must pass license/certificate verification)
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications as listed
• Experience working in Emergency Room settings preferred
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
• Must meet facility health requirements (fit test, required vaccinations, 2-step PPD or IGRA, physical, and drug screen)
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to work independently on night shifts, and excellent communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and EKG recognition
• Knowledge of trauma and acute care protocols and ACLS/PALS algorithms
• Calm decision-making under pressure and rapid prioritization
• Clear, professional communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
• Accurate clinical documentation and safe handoff practices
• Comfort with competency testing and maintaining required certifications
