Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Perform rapid assessments and triage to prioritize patient needs
• Administer medications and advanced life support interventions per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate patient care
• Utilize specialty-specific competency skills and complete required Trinity skills checklists
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Support stroke assessment using NIHSS and participate in emergency response processes
• Uphold infection control, immunization, and drug screening requirements as part of safe practice

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Ohio or eligible for Ohio licensure)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• PALS certification (required)
• TNCC certification (required)
• NIHSS competency (required)
• Completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
• Compliance with health requirements including fit test, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, influenza vaccine, TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA), varicella, physical/health statement, and drug screen

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency department clinical skills and acute care decision-making
• Triage, rapid assessment, and prioritization under pressure
• Proficiency with advanced cardiac life support and pediatric life support
• Familiarity with stroke assessment (NIHSS) and ED protocols
• Excellent communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to complete and demonstrate specialty competency testing
