Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg/Telemetry unit, monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to changes
• Perform thorough assessments and develop timely, appropriate nursing interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following established protocols and physician orders
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support smooth patient transitions
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record
• Use NIHSS and other stroke/neurologic assessments when indicated to ensure best outcomes
• Maintain infection control standards and support patient and family education

Qualifications

• Current RN license (state licensure required) with License/Certificate Verification
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required or willingness to complete prior to or at start
• Experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry preferred
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist prior to assignment
• Successful completion of required health screening (drug screen, immunizations, fit test, TB testing, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Familiarity with stroke assessment (NIHSS) and acute response protocols
• Proficient documentation in electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently on night shift and prioritize patient safety
