Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams including vascular (DVT), pelvic, obstetric (OB), RUQ abdominal, renal, scrotal, carotid, appendiceal and aortic studies
• Support a busy emergency department and inpatient service with timely, accurate imaging
• Operate and maintain Philips ultrasound equipment and ensure images are documented correctly in Epic EMR
• Work independently and prioritize studies, escalating urgent findings to the care team
• Complete required competency testing and skills checklists to uphold clinical standards
• Adhere to infection prevention, safety protocols, and facility credentialing requirements during every patient interaction
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and clinical teams to ensure excellent care coordination

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited ultrasound/sonography program
• Minimum 3 years of ultrasound/sonography experience (vascular and general diagnostic experience preferred)
• ARDMS certification preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Ability to work independently; may be alone for part of the shift
• Successful License/Certificate Verification and facility credentialing
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Successful fit test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, and up-to-date vaccinations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella) and TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA)
• Must meet site requirement regarding local residency: permanent address within a 50-mile radius of the facility

Education

• Graduated from an accredited ultrasound/sonography program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with vascular ultrasound (DVT) and a broad range of diagnostic sonography studies
• Experience with OB/GYN, RUQ, renal, scrotal, carotid, appendiceal and aortic imaging
• Comfortable using Epic EMR for documentation and order management
• Familiarity with Philips ultrasound equipment
• Strong clinical judgment, time management, and the ability to prioritize in a busy ED/inpatient setting
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
