Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and manage critically ill surgical ICU patients with confidence
- Administer medications and advanced therapies safely and accurately
- Monitor hemodynamics, ventilators, and invasive lines and respond to changes
- Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes thoroughly and professionally
- Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and maintain clinical skills
- Educate patients and families compassionately during critical moments
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required)
- SICU experience or strong critical care background preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
- Completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
- Successful license/certificate verification, fit test, drug screen, and required immunizations
- Comfort with weekend-focused schedule (Friday through Sunday)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care assessment and acute patient management
- Experience with ventilator care and hemodynamic monitoring
- Proficient in medication administration and titration in ICU settings
- Ability to prioritize in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Detail-oriented clinical documentation and adherence to protocols
