Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care and ventilator management for acute-care patients
- Perform patient assessments, establish treatment plans, and adjust therapies as needed
- Deliver airway management, oxygen therapy, and aerosol treatments with precision
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Document treatments, responses, and respiratory care plans clearly and promptly
- Participate in specialty competency testing and maintain required certifications
- Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions and home-care needs
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; will consider CRT with acute care experience
- BLS required; ACLS and NRP preferred
- Active or eligible Respiratory Therapy license for Massachusetts (license verification required)
- Experience in acute care settings and familiarity with ventilator management
- Completed Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skills checklist as required
- Current required health screenings and immunizations (fit test, MMR, Hep B, Tdap, TB screening, COVID-19 vaccine or facility policy compliance)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong ventilator management and weaning skills
- Airway management and suctioning techniques
- Assessment of respiratory status and interpretation of ABGs
- Proficiency with respiratory equipment and monitoring devices
- Excellent documentation, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently on night shift and prioritize critical tasks
