Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to long-term care residents during night shifts
- Perform thorough assessments and timely interventions to maintain resident safety
- Use PointClickCare to document care accurately and communicate changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments following facility protocols and best practices
- Execute neuro assessments and stroke scales when indicated, leveraging NIHSS training
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to promote continuity of care
- Complete required Trinity competency testing and skills checklists to ensure standards are met
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Iowa) with license/certificate verification required
- Current BLS certification (required)
- NIHSS certification (required)
- Experience in Long-Term Care nursing and comfort working 12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
- PointClickCare experience preferred
- Willingness to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Ability to pass required health screenings: Fit test, 10-panel drug screen, immunizations and TB testing
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in a long-term care setting
- Medication administration and documentation accuracy
- Familiarity with PointClickCare or similar electronic medical record systems
- Infection control, vaccine protocols, and basic public health practices
- Comfort managing overnight resident needs and escalation when necessary
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for handoffs and interdisciplinary care
