Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to medical-surgical patients, ensuring safety and comfort
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status, escalating changes promptly
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies accurately and safely
• Conduct NIHSS assessments when indicated and use findings to inform care
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient education clearly and timely in the medical record
• Participate in Trinity Specialty Competency Testing and skills validation to maintain clinical excellence
• Support patient and family education to promote recovery and safe transitions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license with verification (ability to meet license/certificate verification requirements)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required or willingness to obtain
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as part of onboarding
• Current fit test, drug screening, immunizations, and completed health statement (Tdap, COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, 2-step PPD or IGRA)
• Ability to pass Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen and other required pre-employment checks
• Strong clinical judgement, attention to detail, and effective communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid medical-surgical nursing knowledge including assessment and patient monitoring
• Proficiency with medication administration and intravenous therapy
• Skilled in stroke assessment using NIHSS
• Familiarity with infection control practices and immunization requirements
• Competence with EHR documentation and timely charting
• Team-oriented collaboration and clear communication with patients, families, and staff
• Ability to learn and complete facility-specific competency testing quickly
