Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert peri-procedural nursing care for interventional radiology patients, ensuring safety during procedures
• Assess patients pre- and post-procedure, monitor vitals, and intervene promptly when changes occur
• Maintain sterile technique and assist the IR team to support efficient, high-quality procedures
• Document patient care and procedure details accurately in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and allied staff to deliver coordinated care
• Participate in specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards
• Educate patients and families about procedures, post-procedure expectations, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state or ability to obtain licensure
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Epic experience preferred
• Ability to pass required health screenings and background checks (fit test, drug screen, immunizations, etc.)
• Prior experience in interventional radiology or related procedural area is highly desirable

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of interventional radiology procedures and peri-procedural nursing care
• Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records, ideally Epic
• Ability to maintain sterile fields and follow infection control best practices
• Clear communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced procedural environment
• Comfort managing overnight and on-call responsibilities
