Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to medical/surgical and telemetry patients with compassion and attention to detail
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry parameters, recognizing and escalating changes promptly
• Administer medications safely and document interventions clearly and accurately
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop prioritized plans of care in collaboration with the care team
• Support patient and family education to promote recovery and safe transitions home
• Participate in required competency testing and skills validation to maintain clinical proficiency
• Maintain compliance with infection control, immunization, and health screening requirements

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa (or compact RN eligible)
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• TNCC required
• NIHSS required
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and Trinity skills checklist
• Must be able to complete required health screenings (drug screen, immunizations, fit test, etc.) and license verification

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Current RN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition skills
• Proficient in medical/surgical nursing assessments and interventions
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Clear clinical documentation and communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt to varied clinical settings and rapid patient-care needs
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and unit-based workflows
