Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to medical/surgical and telemetry patients with compassion and attention to detail
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry parameters, recognizing and escalating changes promptly
- Administer medications safely and document interventions clearly and accurately
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop prioritized plans of care in collaboration with the care team
- Support patient and family education to promote recovery and safe transitions home
- Participate in required competency testing and skills validation to maintain clinical proficiency
- Maintain compliance with infection control, immunization, and health screening requirements
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa (or compact RN eligible)
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- TNCC required
- NIHSS required
- Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and Trinity skills checklist
- Must be able to complete required health screenings (drug screen, immunizations, fit test, etc.) and license verification
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Current RN licensure required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition skills
- Proficient in medical/surgical nursing assessments and interventions
- Medication administration and IV therapy competence
- Clear clinical documentation and communication with interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt to varied clinical settings and rapid patient-care needs
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and unit-based workflows
