Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and prioritize emergency patients quickly and accurately to guide lifesaving care
- Deliver high-quality trauma and emergency nursing interventions per unit protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient patient flow
- Perform focused patient assessments, triage, and continuous reassessment in a fast-paced ED
- Document patient care and clinical findings thoroughly in the electronic health record
- Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and maintain required clinical skills
- Adhere to infection control practices and maintain required immunizations and health screenings
Qualifications
- Active RN license (ability to verify license/certification required)
- BLS and ACLS required
- TNCC and ENCP or PALS required
- Level 1 trauma experience preferred
- Ability to pass Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing, Trinity Skills Checklist, fit test, and 10-panel drug screen
- Current immunizations and health requirements (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, PPD/IGRA) as listed
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Active RN license required; BSN preferred when available
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong emergency department and trauma nursing knowledge
- Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills
- Triage and rapid decision-making in high-acuity situations
- Familiarity with ED equipment, resuscitation protocols, and trauma workflows
- Clear communication and teamwork under pressure
- Proficiency with clinical documentation and competency-based testing
