Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Primary clinical shift 10:45 AM - 11:15 PM; includes on-call coverage (1 weekend day: Saturday or Sunday on-call 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) plus four weekday on-call nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Rotating day/night schedule.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and the operating room team by preparing and passing instruments and supplies during procedures
• Set up sterile fields, ensure instrumentation is properly sterilized and organized, and maintain strict aseptic technique
• Perform counts, handle specimens correctly, and document operative details accurately
• Anticipate surgeon needs and proactively prepare specialty trays and equipment for procedures
• Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and support staff to promote patient safety and efficient case flow
• Participate in required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain peak performance

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - required
• Successful completion of License/Certificate Verification and Trinity checklist testing
• Ability to pass Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen
• Current and compliant immunizations and health screenings (Fit Test, Tdap, COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, PPD/IGRA, Varicella, physical/health statement)
• Comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts and participating in scheduled on-call coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room protocols
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical procedures and specialty trays
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and situational awareness under pressure
• Accurate documentation skills and attention to detail for counts and specimen handling
• Ability to learn facility-specific workflows and pass facility competency assessments
