Shift Type: Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM - 5:15 PM (five shifts/week); Saturday & Sunday on-call 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; plus 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM call 4 weekdays per assignment — rotating day/night/on-call schedule
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all instruments, supplies and equipment are sterile and ready
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, anticipating needs, and maintaining sterile field
- Perform instrument counts and document surgical supplies accurately to support patient safety
- Collaborate with anesthesia, nursing and other OR team members to coordinate care and efficient turnover
- Respond professionally and quickly during on-call activations for emergent surgical cases
- Complete required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high-quality practice
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) — required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) — required
- On-call availability including weekend rotations and night call — required
- License/certificate verification as required by facility
- Completion of Trinity specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklist (or willingness to complete upon hire)
- Current fit test, required immunizations and health screening per facility checklist
Education
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong sterile technique and operating room protocols
- Proficiency with surgical instruments, counts and OR room setup
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and maintain situational awareness
- Effective communication and teamwork in high-stress clinical settings
- Familiarity with perioperative safety practices and infection control
- Comfort responding to on-call activations and emergency procedures
