Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and team members
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support care goals

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification
• State-required background checks and immunizations as applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfort working with older adults and supporting activities of daily living
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a state-approved GNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered support
• Ability to perform routine resident care and safe transfers
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Good interpersonal skills with residents and families
