Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the direction of an OT to improve patient independence
• Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), adaptive techniques, and therapeutic activities
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive equipment, and safety strategies
• Adapt therapeutic activities to meet each patient’s cognitive, sensory, and physical needs
• Assist in maintaining a safe, organized therapy environment and ensure proper equipment use

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Active or eligible for New Hampshire state licensure or certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
• Experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or outpatient therapy preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Flexibility to work the assigned days, including weekends

Education

• Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or OTA diploma from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with therapeutic activities, ADL training, and adaptive equipment
• Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic medical records
• Knowledge of safety protocols and infection control practices
• Ability to assess patient needs and implement modifications for success
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education
• Time management and organizational skills to manage a full caseload
