Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient care including medication administration and monitoring
• Assess, document, and communicate patient status to the interdisciplinary team
• Perform timely assessments and intervene appropriately for changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement care plans
• Maintain accurate and thorough electronic patient records and handoffs
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Prioritize patient safety and infection control practices on every shift
• Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Mexico or compact as applicable)
• Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications preferred
• Clinical experience in acute care or rehab settings preferred
• Valid professional references and background check clearance
• Ability to work 12+ hour day shifts and adapt to unit needs

Education

• LPN: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (diploma/certificate)
• RN: Graduate of an accredited ADN/BSN nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge appropriate to licensure
• Clear, professional communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Solid documentation practices and comfort with electronic medical records
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Teamwork mindset with the ability to mentor and support colleagues
