Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care consistent with facility policies and scope of practice
- Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and document changes clearly and promptly
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, following physician orders and protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and execute individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a culture of quality improvement and safety
- Support onboarding of travelers and help maintain continuity of care during transitions
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license (Registered Nurse) in New Mexico — compact license accepted if applicable
- Previous acute care nursing experience preferred (LPN or RN experience welcomed)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred depending on unit
- Ability to pass required background and health screenings for travel assignments
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) for Registered Nurses
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma or certificate if applicable to role
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize patient needs
- Proficiency in medication administration and documentation
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
- Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
- Basic troubleshooting and critical thinking in fast-paced environments
