Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality outpatient clinical care to adults with gastrointestinal concerns
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures in the endoscopy suite
- Manage inpatient consults and deliver consultative hospital service on your campus
- Participate in a 1:4 on-call rotation to support urgent inpatient needs
- Document clinical care and coordinate patient follow-up using EPIC
- Collaborate closely with APPs, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care
- Contribute to a patient-centered, team-based environment and support the hospital’s growth
- Engage with community and ACO partners to support a robust referral base
Qualifications
- MD or DO and completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Advanced Endoscopy training preferred but not required
- 3-5 years of post-graduate clinical experience preferred; GI fellows are encouraged to apply
- Not open to visa candidates (US work authorization required)
- Not open to locum tenens candidates
- Willingness to reside within the immediate local area may be required
Education
- MD or DO
- Completion of Gastroenterology fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical expertise in outpatient and inpatient gastroenterology care
- Proficiency in endoscopic procedures and peri-procedural management
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record
- Strong consultative skills for hospital-based services
- Ability to work collaboratively with APPs and multidisciplinary teams
- Comfort with on-call responsibilities and timely clinical decision-making
- Effective communicator who provides patient-centered care
