Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert Maternal Fetal Medicine care and manage high-risk pregnancies and fetal complications
• Perform and interpret fetal ultrasound/sonography and coordinate diagnostic planning
• Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists and other specialists to create comprehensive care plans
• Serve as a regional physician, delivering care across multiple sites and ensuring continuity
• Share on-call duties with the MFM partner/medical director, responding via phone and performing hospital visits as required
• Participate actively in clinical teaching and supervision of residents and medical students
• Lead multidisciplinary case discussions and act as a primary referral resource for complex cases
• Contribute to quality improvement, clinical protocols and program development to advance patient care

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with completed fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• Board Certified or TRULY Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine (if board eligible, must obtain certification within 2 years of eligibility)
• Not accepting candidates with lapsed board certification or Locums-only candidates
• Eligible for Michigan medical licensure (ability to obtain state license required)
• Experience managing high-risk obstetrics and fetal complications; strong fetal ultrasound skills
• Comfortable with regional practice/travel between sites and shared on-call responsibilities
• Open to H1B visa candidates (J1 waiver candidates not accepted)

Education

• MD or DO
• Fellowship training in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in high-risk obstetrics and Maternal Fetal Medicine principles
• Proficiency in fetal ultrasound and interpretation of complex fetal imaging
• Strong multidisciplinary collaboration and referral coordination
• Clinical teaching and mentorship skills for residents and medical students
• Excellent communication with patients and care teams in emotionally sensitive situations
• Ability to manage on-call clinical decision-making and hospital-based care
• Familiarity with clinical documentation, quality improvement and evidence-based protocols
