Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of interventional radiology procedures including angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, needle biopsy, thrombolysis, and Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)
• Provide high-quality hospital-based IR care across adult and geriatric patient populations
• Cover scheduled Q3 call shifts (every third weekday and every third weekend) and respond to emergent consults as needed
• Collaborate closely with two APPs and the IR team to manage patient flow and post-procedure care
• Work confidently in a Level I trauma environment, supporting urgent and complex cases
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement, and documentation to support excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

• MD (Doctor of Medicine)
• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Interventional Radiology
• Eligible for or holding an active Michigan medical license
• Proven experience with angioplasty, stenting, embolization, needle biopsies, thrombolysis, and UFE
• Comfort managing adult and geriatric patients in a hospital setting and providing on-call coverage
• Experience collaborating with APPs and working in Level I trauma centers is a strong plus
• Able to complete credentialing (est. 90 days) and available for fast-track onboarding

Education

• MD (Doctor of Medicine)
• Completion of Interventional Radiology fellowship or equivalent training
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Interventional Radiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert procedural skills in interventional radiology (angioplasty, stents, embolization, UFE, thrombolysis, biopsies)
• Acute care and trauma management experience relevant to a Level I setting
• Strong clinical decision-making in high-volume hospital environments (~8 cases/day)
• Team-oriented communication with APPs, managers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Efficient documentation and clinical workflow in a hospital-based practice
• Ability to handle scheduled call rotations and weekend coverage professionally
