Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and resident behavior accurately
- Assist nursing staff with procedures and follow care plans closely
- Support safe mobility and fall prevention through proper transfer and ambulation assistance
- Maintain a clean, sanitary environment and adhere to infection control practices
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
- Participate in timely shift handoffs and accurate charting to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current CNA or T-CNA certification (required)
- Eligible for or holding Maine state approval/licensure as a nursing assistant
- Comfortable and experienced with overnight/night shift work
- Dependable, patient-focused, and able to work as part of a team
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding and any site-specific training
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program (required for certification)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in personal care and assistance with ADLs
- Proficient in taking and recording vital signs and observations
- Understanding of basic infection control and safety practices
- Clear verbal and written communication for charting and handoffs
- Strong time management, organization, and teamwork
