Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
- Assist with safe patient transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
- Support infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment that improves patient experience
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (T-CNA included where applicable)
- Active state credential or ability to obtain Maine certification promptly
- Comfortable and experienced working night shifts (10:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen required for assignment
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assistance with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding)
- Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs and observing changes
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
- Clear communication and teamwork within a multidisciplinary care team
- Basic charting and documentation skills
