Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living to preserve dignity and independence
• Perform vital sign checks, basic clinical tasks and timely documentation to support excellent patient outcomes
• Assist nursing staff with safe patient transfers and mobility, prioritizing safety at every step
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team to ensure prompt intervention
• Support a respectful, team-oriented environment and contribute to a positive patient experience
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to maintain a safe care environment

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) required
• T-CNA or travel CNA experience strongly preferred
• Active/state-specific CNA license or ability to obtain Maine credentials for the assignment
• Recent hands-on patient care experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
• Background check, TB screening and required immunizations per facility policy

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; CNA training certificate required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs, bathing, grooming and toileting
• Able to take and record vital signs accurately and consistently
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families and clinical teams
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively with nursing staff
• Understanding of infection control and resident safety principles
