Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to mixed medical-surgical patients on a 30-bed unit
• Manage an assigned patient load efficiently and safely at a 5–6:1 ratio
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
• Escalate concerns promptly to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes
• Support a positive work environment by arriving on time and maintaining a constructive attitude
• Focus entirely on direct patient care (this dedicated education unit does not assign teaching responsibilities to travel nurses)

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Level 1 trauma experience or experience in a mid/large hospital is required
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Demonstrated patient care skills and comfort with mixed Med/Surg populations
• Positive attitude, punctuality, and strong teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med/Surg clinical assessment and patient monitoring
• Experience working in higher-acuity or trauma-capable settings
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely at a 5–6:1 ratio
• Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Timely and accurate clinical documentation
