Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Support safe transfers, toileting, bathing, dressing, and feeding while preserving dignity
• Observe residents closely and report changes in condition to the nursing team
• Accurately document care provided and any notable observations in resident records
• Assist with mealtime setup and feeding support, including following dietary instructions
• Engage residents in positive social interactions and activity support to enhance quality of life
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent (Geriatric Nursing Assistant)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic life support or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with resident lifts and transfers and performing physical care tasks
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Friendly, patient demeanor with strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approach
• Skilled in activities of daily living assistance and safe transfer techniques
• Familiarity with basic infection prevention and charting/documentation
• Strong observation skills and ability to communicate clinical changes
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with older adults
