Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry closely and respond quickly to rhythm changes
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately
- Administer medications and treatments safely, following facility protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent care
- Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Complete required competency testing and maintain certification compliance
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure (Iowa license or multistate compact RN preferred)
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
- TNCC and NIHSS certifications required as listed
- Proven telemetry experience and comfort with cardiac monitoring
- Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Competency Testing and Skills Checklist
- Must pass Trinity 10-panel drug screen, fit test, and required health screenings/vaccines
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms and telemetry equipment
- Excellent patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
- Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
- Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced settings
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple acutely ill patients
