Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, timely nursing care to patients in the medical unit
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols
• Perform thorough assessments and document patient status in the medical record
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support continuity of care
• Monitor patient progress and escalate concerns to providers as needed
• Support infection control practices and maintain a safe care environment
• Participate in orientation and training activities to maintain clinical competency

Qualifications

• Current and valid California LVN license
• Experience in med-surg or correctional healthcare preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass facility background checks and meet credentialing requirements
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
• Availability to work the posted schedule including evenings and weekends

Education

• Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing program (LVN credential)

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Patient assessment and clinical observation
• Electronic health record (EHR) charting and accurate record keeping
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Effective verbal and written communication with patients and staff
• Time management and prioritization in a busy clinical setting
