Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans and delivering hands-on care
• Provide gait training, therapeutic exercises, and functional mobility practice to help patients regain independence
• Monitor and document patient progress, updating therapists and the care team on outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and therapeutic goals
• Safely operate and maintain therapy equipment, ensuring a clean and secure treatment space
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care

Qualifications

• Current PTA license or certification (able to obtain/transfer to New Jersey as required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable providing care in a fast-paced rehab/contract setting with weekend coverage
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Reliable, professional, and ready to join a collaborative rehab team

Education

• Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or related field (required)
• State PTA licensure as applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of therapeutic exercise principles and gait training techniques
• Skilled in patient assessment, documentation, and outcome tracking
• Knowledge of safety protocols, adaptive equipment, and fall prevention strategies
• Ability to coach and motivate patients through rehabilitation milestones
• Good time management and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings
