Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac telemetry continuously and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, NPs, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and update patient care plans
• Perform thorough patient assessments and maintain accurate, timely electronic documentation
• Lead safe patient handoffs and support continuity of care across shifts
• Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Iowa license or compact RN license recommended)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Skills Checklist
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass Trinity 10 panel drug screen and fit testing
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• IV therapy, medication administration, and patient assessment
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation and accurate charting
• Comfort with competency testing processes and skills validation
• Effective patient and family education with a focus on safety and outcomes
