Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional abilities and craft individualized occupational therapy plans
• Deliver hands-on treatment and adaptive strategies to improve activities of daily living
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs and physicians to create cohesive care plans
• Document progress clearly and promptly in the patient record
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, assistive devices and safety
• Monitor outcomes and modify interventions to maximize patient independence
• Participate in team meetings and contribute clinical insights to improve care

Qualifications

• Active California Occupational Therapy license or eligibility to obtain one prior to start
• NBCOT certification preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Previous experience in outpatient or rehabilitation settings is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
• Valid professional credentials and clean background checks as required by facility

Education

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) required or equivalent degree required for licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations and functional mobility
• Knowledge of neurorehabilitation and orthopedic therapy techniques
• Familiarity with documentation standards and EMR systems
• Proficient with patient assessment tools and outcome measurement
• Ability to provide family-centered education and home exercise programs
• Solid clinical reasoning and time management in a fast-paced rehabilitative environment
