Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing abilities using evidence-based methods
- Develop individualized, measurable treatment plans that support functional goals
- Provide skilled therapy interventions and adapt approaches to each patient's needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, family members, and caregivers to maximize patient outcomes
- Document progress, discharge planning, and clinical outcomes clearly and timely
- Educate patients and families on therapy strategies and carryover activities to support recovery
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, professional workplace culture
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or equivalent experience encouraged
- Current California SLP license (or ability to obtain) — licensure assistance available
- Experience in adult rehabilitation/acute or post-acute care preferred
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to work collaboratively
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders
- Familiarity with dysphagia management and safe swallow strategies
- Comfortable with electronic health records and timely documentation
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and goal-oriented treatment planning
