Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing abilities using evidence-based methods
• Develop individualized, measurable treatment plans that support functional goals
• Provide skilled therapy interventions and adapt approaches to each patient's needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, family members, and caregivers to maximize patient outcomes
• Document progress, discharge planning, and clinical outcomes clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families on therapy strategies and carryover activities to support recovery
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, professional workplace culture

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred)
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or equivalent experience encouraged
• Current California SLP license (or ability to obtain) — licensure assistance available
• Experience in adult rehabilitation/acute or post-acute care preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to work collaboratively

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders
• Familiarity with dysphagia management and safe swallow strategies
• Comfortable with electronic health records and timely documentation
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational skills and goal-oriented treatment planning
