Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents on a daily basis
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
- Monitor and document vital signs, patient status, and care provided in the chart
- Collaborate closely with RNs, CNAs, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care
- Educate residents and families about care plans, medications, and follow-up
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control best practices
- Advocate for residents' needs and contribute to meaningful care planning
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Massachusetts required
- Completion of an accredited LPN program or equivalent clinical training
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to administer medications safely
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; compassionate bedside manner
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medication administration and documentation
- Patient assessment, wound care basics, and vital sign monitoring
- Familiarity with long-term care or skilled nursing workflows
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and charting accurately
- Infection control principles and safe patient handling techniques
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond calmly in busy situations
