Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and support daily activities with dignity
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes promptly
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and handoffs to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
• Build trusting relationships with patients and families to enhance comfort and outcomes

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification or state-approved training (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
• Comfortable working night shift hours and adapting to facility routines
• Background check and drug screen clearance as required by facility policies
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but new grads welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care skills including bathing, feeding, and toileting assistance
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs and basic observations
• Familiarity with ADLs, transfers, and safe patient handling
• Basic documentation skills and comfort using electronic charting systems
• Strong communication, teamwork, and compassionate bedside manner
• Awareness of infection control procedures and safety protocols
