Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled therapeutic interventions and assist patients with mobility, strengthening, and functional activities
- Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Monitor patient progress, document outcomes accurately, and communicate changes to the therapy team
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
- Utilize therapeutic modalities and adaptive equipment safely and effectively
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to support optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain a professional, compassionate approach while promoting patient independence and dignity
Qualifications
- Currently licensed or certified as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in California or eligible to obtain license
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or obtained on hire
- Experience working with adult and geriatric populations preferred
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in therapeutic exercise prescription and progression
- Skilled in gait training, transfers, and use of assistive devices
- Knowledge of common modalities and safe use of equipment
- Ability to perform patient assessments and report clinical observations
- Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team
- Effective time management and prioritization in a busy clinical setting
