Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance that preserves resident dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to licensed nursing staff promptly
• Accurately document care and resident interactions in the facility charting system
• Support social and emotional needs through meaningful engagement and companionship
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a healthy environment

Qualifications

• Current GNA or CNA certification in Maryland or ability to obtain prior to assignment
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Experience in geriatric or long-term care settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility immunization requirements
• Reliable, patient-centered approach and strong teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Resident-focused bedside care and safe mobility techniques
• Clear communication and collaboration with nursing teams
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Knowledge of infection prevention and safety practices
• Compassion, patience, and cultural sensitivity when caring for older adults
