Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with respect and dignity
• Support mobility and transfers using safe techniques to reduce fall risk
• Take and record vital signs, hydration, and basic observations to inform care plans
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents and families
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Follow infection control practices and facility protocols to keep residents safe
• Participate in shift handoffs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent care

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (or state-equivalent) required; Maryland credentials preferred or eligible
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Ability to pass background and drug screening as required by facility
• Comfort working nights and providing hands-on care to older adults
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics preferred but new grads with certification are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of geriatric care principles and resident-centered care
• Skilled in safe resident handling and mobility assistance
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, intake/output awareness, observation
• Good documentation and communication skills with clinical teams and families
• Compassion, patience, and strong teamwork abilities
