Shift Type: Varied days (as scheduled), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Evening shift

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with respect and dignity
- Provide compassionate feeding assistance and ensure meal needs and textures are followed
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and daily observations accurately in resident charts
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ conditions to the nursing team promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Engage residents in social interactions and recreational activities to promote emotional well-being
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification in the state of Maryland (required)
- Active state registry or license as applicable for Geriatric Nursing Assistants
- Up-to-date immunizations, TB test, and clear background check as required by facility
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass a skills check and complete facility orientation on arrival
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, resident-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved GNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs, safe transfer techniques, and infection prevention practices
- Comfortable documenting care accurately and following care plans
- Ability to recognize basic changes in condition and escalate appropriately
- Good teamwork skills and a positive attitude when working with residents and staff
- Time management to support multiple residents during shift periods
