Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
- Support mealtime service and hydration needs with attention to dietary requirements
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and families
- Build trusting relationships with residents through respectful communication and patience
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification or equivalent required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or must obtain upon hire
- Previous experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a plus
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen as part of onboarding
- Strong interpersonal skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care and common age-related conditions
- Safe patient handling techniques and mobility assistance
- Good communication skills with residents, families, and clinical staff
- Able to follow care plans, document accurately, and escalate concerns
- Team-player mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced care setting
