Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and safe transfers while preserving dignity
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition to the nursing team
• Document care provided and resident observations clearly and promptly
• Support a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Communicate effectively and kindly with residents, families, and coworkers
• Participate in implementing individualized care plans to meet resident needs
• Build trusting relationships with residents to promote comfort and well-being

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of North Carolina (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Comfortable assisting with personal care, mobility, and basic clinical tasks
• Strong communication skills and a caring bedside manner
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of infection control and safe patient handling
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
• Familiarity with documentation and charting best practices
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and multidisciplinary teams
• Attention to detail and ability to follow care plans and instructions
