Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing evaluations for geriatric and rehab patients
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that drive measurable progress
- Deliver skilled therapy sessions focused on communication, cognition, and dysphagia management
- Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and families to coordinate care and support discharge planning
- Document assessments, treatment notes, and outcomes accurately and on time
- Educate patients and caregivers with practical strategies to carryover gains into daily life
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, patient-centered culture
Qualifications
- State SLP license (required) — must be eligible to practice in Georgia
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or active state certification where applicable
- Experience evaluating and treating adult/geriatric populations and dysphagia
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with Medicare/rehab documentation expectations
- Current BLS/CPR as required by facility policy
Education
- Master's or clinical degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in adult/geriatric speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Proficient in bedside swallow evaluations and diet recommendations
- Ability to develop measurable goals and track patient outcomes
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and timely documentation
