Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality direct patient care to medical-surgical patients across a 24-bed unit using the team care model
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care while prioritizing safety and patient-centered outcomes
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with oncology, renal, urology, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT and general medicine needs
• Accurately document patient care and clinical assessments in Epic inpatient EMR
• Maintain current BLS certification and follow all facility clinical and safety policies, including fingernail/artificial nail restrictions
• Complete orientation activities and pass the required open-book orientation exam to demonstrate clinical competency

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (eligible to submit — license to submit required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (medical-surgical experience preferred)
• Current BLS certification required
• Driver's license required at submittal (used to confirm radius eligibility)
• Comfortable using Epic inpatient charting systems
• Willingness to complete orientation and achieve the required passing score on the orientation exam

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in medical-surgical nursing and team care model workflows
• Familiarity with care for patients in oncology, renal, urology, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT and general medicine
• Proficient charting and documentation in EpicCare Inpatient (Epic EMR)
• Strong assessment, triage and patient monitoring skills for acute care settings
• Ability to work night shifts and manage workload in a 24-bed unit with an average census of ~14 patients
