Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub for a wide variety of high-acuity cases including Neuro, Total Joint Implants, Major Vascular, Cardiac (Hearts), General, GYN, Urology, Plastics and some Podiatry
• Float between OR rooms (except Room 6) to support workflow across 10 operating rooms
• Maintain sterile field and instrument readiness for rapid turnover and high case volume (~30 cases/day across rooms)
• Collaborate closely with RNFAs for first assisting and with nursing assistants to facilitate turnover and heavy equipment movement
• Use Cerner for charting and documentation to ensure accurate patient records
• Participate in unit call coverage as scheduled and follow hospital cancellation/shift policies

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR/Perioperative Surgical Tech experience
• Demonstrated experience in Neuro, Total Joint Implants, Major Vascular, Cardiac (Hearts), General, GYN, Urology, Plastics and some Podiatry
• Current BLS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent training (state surgical tech license/certification as required by facility)
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts, floating across rooms, and using Cerner
• No first-time travelers and no duo applications — must meet travel experience expectations

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program (or equivalent) — facility submission requires appropriate certification/license

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient scrubbing technique and intraoperative instrument knowledge
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting
• Strong OR turnover and sterile processing skills
• Ability to work efficiently across multiple specialty rooms and maintain situational awareness
• Team communication skills for coordination with RNFAs, RNs, and nursing assistants
• Exposure to robotic-assisted cases (Room 10) is a plus
