Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered OB support in Labor and Delivery to ensure safe, high-quality care
- Assist nursing and clinical staff with procedures and patient monitoring in the L&D unit
- Accurately document patient care and interventions in EPIC to maintain clear clinical records
- Respond professionally on call shifts and support the team during high-acuity situations
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and facility policies to protect patients and coworkers
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant OB/Labor and Delivery experience
- BLS certification required
- Driver's license required at submittal (used to confirm 50-mile radius eligibility)
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system
- Willingness to comply with facility policies (e.g., no artificial nails in patient care areas)
- Able to complete 12 orientation hours prior to starting
- Not currently full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and/or Dignity)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of Labor and Delivery workflows and OB tech duties
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
- Skilled at patient monitoring and supporting clinical procedures
- Clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced acute care settings
- Ability to manage call responsibilities and adapt to variable night schedules
- Attention to detail for documentation, safety, and policy compliance
