Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for spinal and neuro trauma patients, including acute spinal cord injury and post-surgical management
- Assess and monitor patients with trauma-related injuries such as gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia, and intervene promptly
- Document all patient care accurately and promptly in EPIC as required
- Collaborate with surgeons, therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about condition, prognosis, and ongoing care needs in a compassionate, clear manner
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols while delivering high-quality care
- Prepare and maintain certification and licensure documentation for credentialing and Nursys verification
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state license required); Nursys license verification required
- EPIC experience required — please note EPIC on your profile
- Minimum 2 years experience in spinal/neuro trauma specialty
- Current certification card(s) as required by unit (please upload to profile)
- Complete candidate profile with resume/work history (no gaps greater than 60 days), skills checklist, references, and badge-appropriate photo
Knowledge & Skills
- Spinal care and spinal cord injury management
- Neuro trauma and trauma care principles
- Post-surgical and acute trauma nursing
- Care of patients with gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia
- EPIC clinical documentation and charting
- License verification processes (Nursys) and credentialing requirements
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary communication skills
