Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor orthopedic medical-surgical patients, prioritizing safety and comfort
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following clinical protocols
• Perform post-operative care for orthopedic patients, including wound care and mobility support
• Document patient status and care interventions clearly in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with surgeons, therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Provide compassionate patient and family education about recovery, mobility, and discharge planning
• Maintain license and required certifications, and complete skills checklist and competency documentation

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys license verification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical-surgical and orthopedic surgical specialty
• Certification card(s) as required by the facility (e.g., BLS) and completed skills checklist
• Work history / resume with no gaps greater than 60 days; professional references required
• Badge-appropriate picture and completed demographic profile for credentialing
• Willingness to work holidays

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge of medical-surgical and orthopedic post-operative care
• Proficient in patient assessment, IV management, medication administration, and wound care
• Comfortable with electronic documentation and following facility policies
• Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Attention to detail for licensure verification and credentialing requirements
