Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Provide individual and group therapy tailored to correctional mental health needs
• Perform risk assessments and crisis interventions to maintain safety for patients and staff
• Document clinical findings, treatment progress, and discharge planning clearly and timely
• Collaborate with custody staff, multidisciplinary treatment teams, and external providers to coordinate care
• Participate in orientation and help maintain a therapeutic, humane environment

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) required
• Licensed Psychologist in California (LP) or ability to obtain CA licensure prior to start
• Experience in forensic, correctional, or institutional mental health preferred
• Strong clinical documentation skills and experience with evidence-based therapies
• Ability to pass required facility background checks and follow correctional facility protocols

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Experience with trauma-informed care and cognitive behavioral interventions
• Crisis management and suicide risk assessment skills
• Excellent written documentation and time management
• Ability to work compassionately with justice-involved and diverse populations
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
