Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations for patients in a psychiatric program
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual needs
- Provide individual, group, and crisis intervention therapies with compassion and clinical rigor
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, social workers, nursing staff, and corrections personnel to coordinate care
- Document clearly and timely in the medical record to ensure continuity of care and compliance
- Consult on program development and contribute to treatment team meetings to improve patient outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and training to strengthen program services
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
- Licensed Psychologist in California or eligible for licensure (state license required or in-process preferred)
- Experience providing psychological services in psychiatric or correctional settings preferred
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills with evidence-based modalities
- Ability to manage crisis situations and perform risk assessments effectively
- Clear background checks and any facility-specific credentialing required
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
- Relevant post-doctoral training or supervised experience a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in psychiatric assessment, DSM diagnostics, and risk evaluation
- Experience with evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care
- Excellent clinical documentation and case formulation skills
- Strong interpersonal and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
- Cultural humility and ability to work with diverse adult populations
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and confidentiality best practices
