Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Day); alternative schedules include Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM or Mon-Thu / Tue-Fri 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Orientation: 3+ days NEO/Block Training

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and substance use evaluations to inform treatment
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that drive recovery
- Provide individual and group therapy focused on substance abuse and co-occurring mental health needs
- Lead psychoeducation and relapse prevention groups that empower clients with practical tools
- Collaborate closely with custody and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, safe care
- Document treatment progress and maintain accurate clinical records in a timely manner
- Participate in NEO/Block Training and ongoing professional development to maintain high standards
- Support discharge planning and referrals to community resources to promote continuity of care
Qualifications
- Valid California PSY license (PSYL) preferred; LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW also encouraged to apply
- Current clinical licensure in good standing and ability to practice in California
- Experience in substance abuse treatment and mental health interventions preferred
- Comfort working in a correctional/substance abuse treatment facility environment (SATF)
- Willingness to complete required NEO/Block Training and facility onboarding
- Strong documentation skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Education
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related clinical field (required for licensure)
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of substance abuse assessment and evidence-based treatment modalities
- Skilled in individual, group, and family therapy approaches
- Crisis intervention, risk assessment, and de-escalation techniques
- Familiarity with treatment planning, progress notes, and electronic health records
- Cultural competence and trauma-informed care principles
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
