Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning for patients in a psychiatric correctional program
• Deliver individual and group therapy focused on rehabilitation, risk reduction, and symptom management
• Conduct risk and crisis assessments and coordinate timely interventions when needed
• Document clinical findings, treatment progress, and medicolegal reports with clarity and professional rigor
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nursing staff, custody partners, and multidisciplinary teams to support holistic patient care
• Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance program outcomes

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) or equivalent clinical doctorate preferred
• California license to practice psychology (Licensed Psychologist) or license-eligible with a clear plan to obtain state licensure
• Experience or strong interest in psychiatric, forensic, or correctional mental health settings preferred
• Demonstrated competence in psychological assessment, diagnostics, and evidence-based interventions
• Excellent documentation skills and ability to produce professional clinical and medicolegal reports
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Education

• PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (or equivalent doctoral-level clinical degree)
• State licensure required or license-eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and diagnostic formulation
• Individual and group psychotherapy techniques
• Risk assessment and crisis management
• Trauma-informed care and behavioral intervention strategies
• Strong clinical documentation and report-writing
• Collaborative teamwork and interdisciplinary communication
• Familiarity with correctional or forensic mental health practices is a plus
