Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for adults in a psychiatric program
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices
- Provide individual and group therapy focused on recovery, coping skills, and behavioral management
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary mental health team to coordinate care and ensure continuity
- Document treatment progress, assessment findings, and clinical recommendations accurately and timely
- Participate in case reviews, treatment planning meetings, and quality improvement activities
- Deliver crisis intervention and risk assessments when urgent clinical needs arise
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
- Licensed Psychologist in California or eligible for California licensure
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in mental health; experience in forensic or correctional settings is a plus
- Strong clinical assessment and therapy skills with adults
- Clean background check and ability to work in a secure facility
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a patient-centered approach
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) required/preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in psychological assessment tools and diagnostic interviewing
- Experience delivering evidence-based therapies (CBT, DBT, or similar approaches)
- Solid documentation skills and familiarity with clinical charting best practices
- Ability to manage crisis situations and perform risk assessments
- Skilled at collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and correctional staff
- Cultural competence and trauma-informed care principles
